Is Optimal Mindset for Me?

As I approach my business launch event tomorrow, I’ve fielded some questions about Optimal Mindset training based on the look and feel of my website.  First impressions seem to be that Optimal Mindset is just for high-end executives and big corporations.  Not so!

Yes, one of my personal passions is to bring mind-body tools into the boardroom. The typical corporate executive is burning the candle at both ends — just ask any MD how many of their executive level patients have serious health conditions that are exacerbated by stress.  But Optimal Mindset training is equally useful for the folks around the water cooler, people working at home and those outside of the office all together.  After all, who can’t benefit from a personal buffer against everyday stress?  And I love to imagine what the world would be like if we upped the general awareness quotient all the way around.

Learning to focus attention and expand awareness are good ideas for lots of reasons.  People with mindfulness tools in their toolkit are better able to surf the up and down waves of daily life; they interact more effectively and less caustically to co-workers, family and the world in general.  That’s because it’s easier to “go with the flow” and maintain a compassionate view of the world when you realize that you are not your emotions, thoughts and sensations.  Awareness offers the opportunity to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting habitually — and I can tell you from personal experience, that can be a pretty handy thing when you’re dealing with a crowded parking lot, a rebellious teenager or the neighbors next door blasting rap music at 2 AM.

Then there is the whole positive mindset thing.   A mindfulness practice can be used to consciously develop an outlook on life that is more upbeat, calm, connected and compassionate.  The practice of self-directed neuroplasticity allows for the “filling in” of deep habitual grooves in the brain that hold negative thinking and the cultivation of new neural pathways that connect to the positive, happy thoughts.  How cool is that?  Check out this article from the Sharp Brain Institute to learn more.

So don’t be fooled by all the suits and ties on my website.   Optimal Mindset is of benefit to any group or individual desiring a more easeful path though life.
